The pay listed is the salary range for this position. An offer will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s preferably in Environmental Studies/Science, Sustainability, OR equivalent years of experience
  • Strong data and analytic skills; ability to translate data into actionable intelligence
  • Thorough knowledge of San Francisco Zero Waste regulations
  • Demonstrates exemplary customer service and excellent verbal, written, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train, influence and motivate team members
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with people from various backgrounds
  • Flexibility in schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English, Spanish, Cantonese/Mandarin is a plus
  • Graphic design is a plus, but not required
  • Basic knowledge of PowerPoint and excel
  • Presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Conducts waste audits
  • Conducts educational presentations and outreach
  • Performs on site-waste consultations
  • Trains sorter, faculty, students, and restaurant staff on proper sorting
  • Develops, analyzes, and revises standard operating procedures related to waste management
  • Prepares compliance and waste audit reports using data collection, analysis and interpretation, as well as narrative summaries; ensures monitoring and tracking of sorting programs and oversees audits
  • Coordinates the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) for sorters
  • Facilitates a work environment that promotes a sustainable culture
  • Acts as an advisor to the entire management team on best zero waste practices
  • Oversees the sorting program
  • Perform data entry in the work order systems.
  • Create and track purchase orders in the accounting system.
  • Performs other administrative duties
