The Administrative Assistant for the Global Engagement Office provides high-level administrative, logistical, and operational support to advance the school’s global partnerships, programs, and initiatives. This role serves as a central coordination point for faculty, staff, students, and international partners, ensuring smooth operations across global activities, travel, events, and communications. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, culturally responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, globally connected academic environment. This posting is for an Administrative Support Specialist temporary position. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Administrative Support Specialist will complete administrative tasks for the Global Engagement Office with the School of Social Work. This position will administratively support the Associate Dean of Global Engagement, Assistant Director of Global Engagement, and other key team members. Responsibilities include following program policies and procedures and using software and systems, manage communication, prepare, file, and maintaining records and documents, ordering supplies and overseeing the office and operational needs, inputting data accurately to maintain databases and spreadsheets, supporting travel logistics, scheduling needs of the Global Engagement Office to include coordination across the School of Social Work and across institutions, and completing financial processing. In addition, the Administrative Support Specialist may help with event planning by serving as the point persons for planning, logistics, and implementation of all Global Engagement Office events.
