About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Pharmacy, the administrative assistant provides secretarial and clerical services necessary to maintain the efficient,  productive operation of the Pharmacy.    Types reports, memoranda, statistical data and correspondence related to the functions of the Pharmacy Department.        Photocopies reports, memoranda, correspondence and other Pharmacy related materials.     Coordinates meetings, conferences, maintains schedules with department heads, physicians, supervisors and other personnel.      Acts as receptionist, courteously answers the telephone, routes calls to the appropriate  individuals.  Contacts other hospital personnel or outside persons as required.       Remains accessible while on duty to perform errands, as assigned (e.g., to nursing, other departments), and other relative duties assigned in addition to those job duties specifically indicated.    Assists in data collection and computation of statistical information.    Maintains files for the department.     Assists in obtaining information from outside agencies as assigned.     Maintains and enhances growth by attending programs as directed.    Maintains an excellent working relationship with medical professionals.    Performs all other duties as required, including preparation of department payroll.

Requirements

  • This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 1 year job-related experience
  • Knowledge of software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of office equipment.
