About The Position

Under the direction and guidance of the Chairman and the Senior Adm. Asst./Residency Coordinator of the Department of Medicine will be responsible for the development and implementation of all office and clerical activities.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must possess good computer knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year job-related experience.
  • Experience customer service 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Effectively assist Chairman and Residency Coordinator with all daily departmental activities.
  • Prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks.
  • Assist in managing the daily activities of the department under the directions of the Chairman and the Residency Coordinator.
  • Type all office correspondence.
  • Expedite all reimbursements via payroll/purchase requisitions while keeping track and following up on status and discrepancies.
  • Process high volume of employment verifications.
  • Schedule and maintain calendar for Chairman meetings and patients' appointments.
  • Maintain and organize all departmental files.
  • Download applications via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and assist in the coordination of resident interviews, orientation and credentialing process.
  • Distribute, sort and redirect all departmental mail on a daily basis.
  • Maintain inventory of all office supplies and handle office equipment repairs.
  • Handle confidential information appropriately and exercise care in safeguarding proprietary information.
  • Performs all other duties as required.
