About The Position

This Administrative Associate I position is located in the Mental Health Department at Scotland Correctional Institution located in Laurinburg, NC. houses up to 1,756 male offenders in a close, medium, and minimum custody facility. Positions at this level require (but are not limited to) processing all incoming and outgoing mail, receiving incoming shipments of supplies, materials, and/or equipment for the Mental Health department. Ensuring the efficient and timely processing of offender and staff mail while in compliance with established DAC policies and procedures. Coordinating research for mental health offender grievances. Performing a variety of office and/or technical tasks, in order to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents, and/or materials. Scheduling mental health appointments, preparing and maintaining logs/reports, coordinating tracking systems for mental health offenders, and meeting daily and monthly deadlines. Communicating both orally and in writing with offenders, offender families, staff, management, government officials, and the general public.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Documented experience performing administrative functions in an office setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
