About The Position

The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! Reporting to the Administrative Officer II, serves as the Fixed Assets Coordinator for a male minimum custody correctional facility. The role involves maintaining, completing, and submitting the necessary paperwork.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using computers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

  • Controlling fixed assets to ensure accountability for all equipment and completing the required documentation.
  • Perform of a variety of administrative, clerical, and office support duties
  • Preparing documents, reports, and composing memos and letters.
  • Greeting, referring, and assisting visitors, clients, and staff.
  • Maintaining records using a personal computer, a systematic filing system, and operating standard office equipment.
  • Planning work, understanding and executing both oral and written instructions, reviewing completed tasks for accuracy, and meeting daily and monthly deadlines.
  • Assisting with answering a high volume of phone calls related to personnel issues.
  • Compiling records, organizing and maintaining files.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and logs for various documents and forms.
  • Serving as a backup Accounting Technician I.
