About The Position

Craggy Correctional Center is a minimum and medium custody facility in Buncombe County with approximately 182 minimum and 408 medium security custody male offenders. Positions in this class are characterized by their performance of a variety of administrative, clerical, and office support duties. This position provides clerical support for the Administrative Section for both the medium/minimum custody facilitates. This position will assist with the switchboard answering and directing calls as needed. The position will also maintain records, files and compose routine communications both written and verbal. Must be able to plan work, understand and carry out written and oral instructions, must be able to work well with team members to get tasks accomplished accurately and timely. The position must meet daily, monthly and yearly deadlines. Demonstrated knowledge of computer operation, Excellent data entry skills, Organizational skills, correct grammar skills, filing system abilities and strong customer service skills required. Direct experience with filing, scanning, copying, maintaining records and experience with databases and Excel spreadsheets is required.
