The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking compassionate and committed individuals with leadership experience to join our team as an Administrative Nurse at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Omaha. These professionals provide essential oversight for nursing services that support male youth. This vital role directly supports our mission of Helping People Live Better Lives. The Administrative Nurse is a first line supervisor over professional and direct care nursing staff in the delivery of nursing services at YRTC Omaha.
Requirements
- A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Registered nurse in Nebraska and one year of relevant experience.
Nice To Haves
- Previous supervisory experience in the nursing and/or medical field
- Experience working with youth
Responsibilities
- Supervise the medical department and direct care nursing staff at YRTC Omaha
- Oversee daily medical care of youth, daily medical tasks, and manage medical processes
- Ensure proper emergency care is provided to youth
- Consult with the Health Authority and APRN to ensure medical practices and procedures are provided within the scope of practice
