About The Position
The Northwest Tri-County IU5 Adult Education Program is seeking a part-time Adult Education English As a Second Language instructor at our Adult Education Center, located at 809 Peach Street, Erie, PA. This is a contracted position working approximately 8.5 hours per week at a rate of $23/hour. The typical schedule for this position, will be Tuesdays 8:00 am - 12:30 PM and Thursdays 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Anticipated start date for this position will be June or July of 2026.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent foreign credential
- Instructors that are teaching high school level mathematics, must have a secondary math teaching certification or a bachelor's degree or higher
Nice To Haves
- Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred
- Teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of Adult Education and College and Career Readiness Standards
- Experience working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students
- Retired teachers are encouraged to apply
