Position Details: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Schedule: 4/10's Day shift Moday-Friday (Possible weekend rotation in the future) No Call! Inpatient BMT Oncology unit, located in Parkview Tower Strongly Preferred: Acute Care/ICU provider and/or nursing experience Preferred: Oncology/BMT experience For questions about the position, please contact Michael.Moscketti@bjc.org The nurse practitioner functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working in a multidisciplinary health team to provide care to patients and families across subspecialty practice settings. They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise with acute and chronic illnesses encountered within the inpatient and outpatient subspecialty settings. The role demonstrates an advanced level of clinical knowledge, interdisciplinary collaboration, and systems-based practice. They work with staff, nurses, physicians, and medical/surgical trainees to assure safe, effective, quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Licensed APRN in Missouri
  • National APRN Board Certifcatn
  • BJH: Adult-Gerontology Primary Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • SLCH: Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care (CPNP-PC), Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNP-AC), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care/ICU provider and/or nursing experience
  • Oncology/BMT experience
  • Doctorate - Nursing

  • SLCH: Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNP-AC)

Responsibilities

  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization.
  • Provides patient- and family-centered care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for health recovery, illness prevention, disease treatment, or end-of-life care.
  • Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for subspecialty patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
