About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Aircraft Painter Team Lead in North Charleston, South Carolina on 2nd Shift-B shift. Position Responsibilities: Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools Builds effective resource plans Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader Updates and communicates BPS metrics Identifies KPI improvement actions Assigns daily work Leads team in daily safety check-in Monitors and reports daily progress to plan Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk Documents and communicates shift turnover Establishes overtime requirements and staffing Responsible for monitor and control of 5S Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues Creates standardized work instructions Support teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training Responsible for BPS process improvements Leads Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks Prepares exterior surface of aircraft for painting Makes necessary patterns, performs layout, and applies prescribed primers, paints and finishes to exterior of aircraft Applies aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft sections This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC (BSC)

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work any shift, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • 3+ years of formal or informal leadership experience
  • 3+ years of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting
  • 1+ year of experience with the operations process involving the 787-airplane program
  • Ability to pass and complete fall protection training
