About The Position

Under the supervision of the FC APIDA Amplified Program Director and the Dean of Ethnic Studies & Student Equity, the APIDA Amplified Program Specialist will assist in developing and implementing academic support strategies to increase student recruitment and retention of students served by the college’s APIDA Amplified Program, funded by the California AANHPI Student Achievement Program. The APIDA Amplified Program Specialist will assist with day-to-day operations, plan and facilitate programmatic efforts, and coordinate FC APIDA Resource Center activities. The AANHPI Student Achievement Program aims to provide culturally responsive services to enhance student educational experiences and promote higher education success for low- income, underserved, and first generation Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander ( AANHPI ) students and other underrepresented students. Major goals of the AANHPI Student Achievement Program include: Improve key academic outcome indicators for APIDA and underrepresented students Provide APIDA -targeted mental health and wellness support through workshops, activities and opportunities for students and the community, and Establish APIDA culturally relevant career readiness support and programming for students. Additional grant goals include ensuring research informs service approaches, curricula, and overall campus operations to serve APIDA students more effectively.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related area OR at least two (2) years of experience in administering the specified project(s) or similar project(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite platforms, particularly Outlook, Teams, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with Canva and/or other graphic design platforms, such as Cap Cut.
  • Experience with managing social media platforms & creating content, particularly on Instagram.
  • Knowledge of Federal and/or State grant requirements.
  • Ability to organize financial and grants management documents.
  • Experience in being a grant representative and engaging with community partners.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and/or community leaders in programs and initiatives that are specifically designed to assist historically underrepresented students in achieving their educational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and support students in the APIDA Resource Center by offering guidance, referrals, and a culturally affirming presence during daily operations
  • Develop digital and print content, including flyers, newsletters, social posts, and outreach materials, to promote APIDA Resource Center programs, increase student visibility and engagement, and collaborate with Campus Communications for approval
  • Manage the @FCAPIDA Instagram account and the APIDA Amplified email newsletter with upcoming events and announcements
  • Plan, facilitate, and evaluate programmatic efforts that align with the goals outlined in the AANHPI Student Achievement Program
  • Coordinate APIDA Resource Center activities, events, and initiatives by managing logistics, hosting events, communicating with team members, and ensuring smooth day-to-day execution
  • Use Wordpress to update the apida.fullcoll.edu website with flyers and personnel changes
  • Forge collaborations with campus departments, student organizations, and community partners to co-host culturally relevant events, workshops, and social media posts
