About The Position

The Electro-Acoustic Applications Support Expert will be responsible for working with our consultant and engineering partners, integrators, our independent sales rep force, in addition to other teams within Harman, to support the proper usage and deployment of Harman audio products while building trust in both our brands and culture. This role will focus primarily on Performance, Sports, House of Worship, and Themed Entertainment projects, but will also assist key customers with other system designs and technical support. The person in this role will be part of a team effort to achieve annual revenue objectives consistent with HARMAN’s market position as the largest pro audio manufacturer in the world.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in the professional audio industry, including audio system design with a consulting or MEP design firm, integrator, or professional audio manufacturer.
  • Performance, Theme Park and/or Sports project audio design experience required.
  • Project Management and/or Bid Estimating experience.
  • Teaching and/or client presentation experience.
  • Knowledge of competitive products.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Design Review, or others.
  • Proficiency with 3D Acoustic modeling software, specifically EASE required, others a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to be productive from a home-office environment.
  • Be willing to travel up to 10%, within North America
  • Be willing to work in a Harman office or Home Office
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
  • This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than four (4) active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or other relevant education preferred.
  • Experience with project and sales tracking software (CRM) a plus.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint software understanding preferred.
  • Experience using Revit, SketchUp, or other 3D BIM modeling programs, is highly desired.
  • Deep technical knowledge of audio, video and control system theory and application.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and review preliminary recommendations, equipment packages, and pricing.
  • Work with Harman teams to review audio designs and system bid proposals for technical accuracy and make recommendations as needed.
  • Work closely with other Harman sales teams, specifically our Control/Video and Lighting groups, to support Harman system designs.
  • Collaborate with product management, sales, marketing, and other internal teams on future products, usage, demo systems, and other product-related initiatives.
  • Support consultants, engineers, integrators, and high-level end-users with audio system designs. Including system performance verification through the use of 3D acoustical modeling software.
  • Present educational content to system designers.
  • Coordinate with team members and clients across several time zones.
  • Help the Sales teams track opportunities via CRM.
  • Coordinate and track projects with other Harman teams.
  • Support our integrators with on-site system commissioning and tuning, as needed.
  • Attend and support Harman during special marketing events like industry tradeshows and client engagements.
