About The Position

The UNC Aquatics Coordinator will provide leadership and advisement to a diverse and comprehensive Aquatics program that offers approximately 30 programs serving more than 3,000 participants annually. The Coordinator will actively supervise and mentor student employees to create a safe, and accessible recreational environment for the University community. The primary purpose of the position is to develop, direct, and foster an aquatics-based learning environment and to oversee and administer Aquatics programs through direct interaction with students to enhance their academic and learning experience outside of the classroom setting. The position manages UNC Aquatics student employees, creates leadership development opportunities, maintains and updates records, policies, procedures, and provides facility, risk, and event management support to Campus Recreation. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Aquatics for Campus Recreation. Current Water Safety Instructor Trainer certification or ability to acquire.
