As an Architectural Business Development Manager , you’ll play a key role in driving design-driven specifications and building meaningful relationships within the architectural and construction community. You’ll represent OBE’s family of brands (including C.R. Laurence) and help architects, designers, and contractors bring their visions to life through innovative glazing and architectural solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business development, project management, or sales experience in the architectural, construction, or building materials industry .
  • A strong understanding of the specification-driven bidding process and design community engagement.
  • Excellent presentation skills and confidence communicating with architects, designers, and project teams.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Technical acumen with the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce experience a plus).

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • LEED accreditation, BIM or SAP experience is a plus.
  • You’re proactive, collaborative, and motivated by turning ideas into tangible results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects, general contractors, developers, owners, and consultants.
  • Secure and manage basis of design specifications for OBE and CRL products.
  • Track progress of projects through CRM systems, ensuring effective follow-up and reporting.
  • Build a robust pipeline of regional projects that lead to sales growth.
  • Present OBE technical solutions, architectural systems, and glass products at industry meetings, lunch-and-learns, and trade events.
  • Collaborate closely with Architectural Specialists, Marketing, and Territory Sales teams to win specifications and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Stay informed on market demands, emerging design trends, and competitive products.
  • Participate in professional associations such as AIA, CSI, or IIDA to strengthen industry presence.
  • Travel regionally (estimated at ~30%) to meet industry partners and attend events.
