About The Position

A successful Assembly Operator can safely and efficiently assemble products that meet all quality requirements. This is an hourly, non-exempt position and reports to the Complex Assembly & Fulfillment Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including working with quality and production control.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Team player mentality.
• Basic crane and forklift experience.
• Assembly blueprint reading skills.
• Capable of understanding and following written and verbal work instructions.
• Understanding of BOM's (Bill Of Materials).
• Troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to inspect work and meet quality expectations.
• Ability to identify and share process improvement ideas, lean thinker.
• Prolonged periods standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Use parts list and retrieve all parts needed to assemble order.
• Fit and assemble parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and power tools.
• Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and scales.
• Utilize sand blast and wash & dry equipment.
• Use the proper lifting method depending upon size and weight of the item to be assembled,
• Continually inspect products and processes throughout assembly.
• Inspect and test the final assembly to ensure it meets specifications.
• Crosstrain on plant machinery as required.
