About The Position

Houston Christian University seeks candidates in Accounting for the Archie W. Dunham College of Business. Candidates must be available to begin work on campus in Houston in August 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. HCUs primary mission is teaching. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. The College offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration (multiple majors), Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Master of Business Administration, Professional Master of Business Administration (including an Accounting & Finance track), Master of Science in Human Resource Management with People Analytics, Master of Science in Leadership, and Master of International Business. Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to teaching, scholarly research and publication activities, advising, maintaining office hours, recruitment and retention activities, committee service, professional outreach activities, ACBSP accreditation support, and active engagement in the campus community. Teaching responsibilities will be at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The teaching load for the DCOB is seven (7) courses per academic year (Fall & Spring), and the primary modality of teaching is face-to-face. Some online instruction is possible. The selected candidate will also perform other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will: Provide excellent teaching to undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of delivery formats; Actively integrate the Christian faith in teaching; Actively engage in scholarly work in their related discipline; and, Engage in various service activities to the College, University, and community.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have an earned PhD or DBA from an AACSB- or ACBSP-accredited university in Accounting or a closely related business discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates that have experience with ACBSP accreditation and who possess academic credentials in specialized accounting and financial topics such as accounting information systems, forensic accounting, or energy industry accounting.
  • A CPA license and professional experience within the candidates discipline or in a related field will be an advantage.
