About The Position

Join us at our flagship Newcastle city centre branch as an Assistant Branch Manager, and help shape the future of high‑street banking in our heartland. As an Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of one of our largest and most vibrant branches. Acting as a deputy to the Branch Manager, you’ll support and guide colleagues, ensure smooth daily operations, and help deliver an outstanding customer experience. You’ll build long‑term relationships with our customers, taking the time to understand their needs and helping them explore the right options — including generating quality referrals to our specialist advice teams. This is a role where you can make a real difference: to your team, your customers, and your community.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Branch Manager to lead, motivate and coach a high‑performing team
  • Ensuring the branch runs smoothly across customer service, transactions, and internal processes
  • Acting as Deputy Manager when required
  • Helping deliver strong business performance through great customer conversations
  • Owning and promoting the “understanding needs” process
  • Building trusted, long‑term relationships with customers
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and collaborative branch culture
