About The Position

As the Assistant Clinical Supervisor , you will partner closely with the Clinical Supervisor to support the delivery of exceptional patient care and client service while helping ensure smooth day-to-day hospital operations. This role combines leadership and hands-on clinical work , making it a great opportunity for an experienced veterinary technician or nurse who is ready to grow into a supervisory position. You will help guide the clinical team, support workflow and training initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative, positive environment while continuing to provide direct patient care. The role is approximately 90% technical and 10% administrative leadership .

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Veterinary General Practice or a related clinical setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a team-focused mindset

  • Passion for veterinary medicine and commitment to exceptional patient care
  • Fluent in English (speaking and reading required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with staffing coordination to ensure appropriate coverage based on patient and client needs.
  • Partner with hospital departments to streamline workflow and improve service delivery.
  • Support onboarding, training, and mentorship for new and existing team members.
  • Participate in performance reviews, monthly one-on-one meetings, and day-to-day problem-solving.
  • Help maintain equipment and ensure the team has the tools needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Support the Clinical Supervisor with operational oversight while maintaining a strong presence on the floor.
  • Triage and support General Practice patients, ensuring compassionate and efficient care throughout their visit.
  • Administer vaccines and perform phlebotomy and cytology sample collection and processing.
  • Assist veterinarians with dentistry procedures, spays, neuters, and other surgical or medical treatments.
  • Monitor anesthesia and ensure safe, attentive patient care during procedures.
  • Handle laboratory samples and utilize diagnostic tools such as imaging and laboratory equipment to support patient assessment.
