About The Position

As the Assistant Clinical Supervisor, you will partner closely with the Clinical Supervisor to support the delivery of exceptional patient care and client service while helping ensure smooth day-to-day hospital operations. This role combines leadership and hands-on clinical work, making it a great opportunity for an experienced veterinary technician or nurse who is ready to grow into a supervisory position. You will help guide the clinical team, support workflow and training initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative, positive environment while continuing to provide direct patient care. The role is approximately 90% technical and 10% administrative leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Veterinary General Practice or a related clinical setting

Responsibilities

  • Assist with staffing coordination to ensure appropriate coverage based on patient and client needs.
  • Partner with hospital departments to streamline workflow and improve service delivery.
  • Support onboarding, training, and mentorship for new and existing team members.
  • Participate in performance reviews, monthly one-on-one meetings, and day-to-day problem-solving.
  • Help maintain equipment and ensure the team has the tools needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Support the Clinical Supervisor with operational oversight while maintaining a strong presence on the floor.
  • Triage and support General Practice patients, ensuring compassionate and efficient care throughout their visit.
  • Administer vaccines and perform phlebotomy and cytology sample collection and processing.
  • Assist veterinarians with dentistry procedures, spays, neuters, and other surgical or medical treatments.
  • Monitor anesthesia and ensure safe, attentive patient care during procedures.
  • Handle laboratory samples and utilize diagnostic tools such as imaging and laboratory equipment to support patient assessment.
