The Experience You’ll Create: The Assistant Controller supports the financial management and accounting operations of the RSG Division, including vending, micro-market, and office coffee services business lines. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing actionable financial insights to support operational performance. Working closely with the multiple layers of accounting and operations leadership, the Assistant Controller plays a key role in day-to-day accounting execution and continuous process improvement. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA candidate preferred).
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and basic internal controls.
  • Exemplary in Excel and familiarity with various ERP/accounting systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving, can-do mentality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Polished communicator with team focused demeanor
  • Strong desire to learn, be curious, forward thinking and willingness to grow and develop.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in vending, micro-markets, route-based distribution, retail, or CPG is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including month end journal entries, account reconciliations, and thorough financial statement line-item level review and variance analysis.
  • Assist in tracking key metrics such as waste, shrinkage, and product margin performance.
  • Support and maintain data warehouse integrity by validating financial and operational sub-system data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of reporting outputs.
  • Verify and validate key system inputs, including tax jurisdictions and commission structures, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to cash (vault services), inventory, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze payroll expenses, including direct and indirect labor, to ensure accuracy, cost control, and alignment with budget.
  • Support future ERP implementation and integrations functions from all divisional capacities.
  • Partner with Integrations Controller with onboarding and integration of new locations or acquisitions.
