About The Position

REIC Rentals is seeking a strategic and hands-on Group Controller to lead the company's accounting operations and help scale the financial infrastructure of a growing equipment rental organization. This leader will oversee the financial close process, ensure accurate and timely reporting, strengthen internal controls, and partner closely with operational leadership to drive business performance. The Controller will manage accounting teams across multiple locations and play a critical role in building scalable processes, improving financial visibility, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. This position will be on-site at our Denver HQ About REIC Rentals REIC Rentals provides equipment solutions that support construction, industrial, and infrastructure projects. As the company continues to grow, the finance function plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence and long-term success. The Controller will have the opportunity to build strong financial processes and partner with leadership to drive the next phase of growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks
  • Experience managing multi-location accounting operations and remote teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes, improve systems, and drive operational efficiency
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate financial data into business insights

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or Master's degree in Accounting strongly preferred
  • Experience in equipment rental, construction services, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
  • Oversee and develop accounting teams located in Louisiana and Kalispell, fostering collaboration and performance across locations (up to 25% travel required)
  • Ensure the integrity of financial reporting, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance
  • Partner with operations and executive leadership to provide financial insights, analysis, and reporting that support operational performance and strategic planning
  • Assist with external audits, compliance requirements, and financial documentation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, standardize accounting procedures, and improve financial systems
  • Support the development of scalable accounting infrastructure to accommodate company growth
  • Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and business performance analysis
