About The Position

As an Assistant Controller, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial health and operational success of our plant. You’ll work closely with the Controller to oversee daily accounting activities, prepare accurate financial reports, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts. In this role, you’ll collaborate across departments to resolve invoicing issues, support inventory accuracy, and ensure timely vendor and customer transactions. You’ll also have the opportunity to guide and train team members, drive process improvements, and partner with both plant teams and our corporate office to keep operations aligned and compliant. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of our financial processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Excel skills; SAP proficiency preferred.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communicator who is comfortable working across teams and in a plant environment.
  • Ethical, dependable, and motivated to continuously learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Controller in managing daily accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inventory, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Prepare, review, and submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including plant-level P&L statements.
  • Support monthly financial statement processing, budgeting, forecasting, and participation in weekly forecast meetings.
  • Post and review journal entries and verify general ledger accuracy.
  • Provide support to the accounting specialist and collaborate with staff across sales, customer service, shipping, and operations to ensure timely payments, invoicing accuracy, and resolution of customer credit memos.
  • Oversee month-end inventory reconciliations and support operations with corrections when needed.
  • Provide guidance and training to accounting and plant staff to ensure alignment with financial processes.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with both plant teams and the corporate office to maintain alignment and compliance.
