About The Position

The Assistant Dean of Admissions, International supports ambitious university enrollment goals of building increasingly talented and globally aware incoming classes by actively recruiting and enrolling students from a designated recruitment territory. Contributes to a welcoming and enriching campus visitation program by leading information sessions, conducting informational student meetings and interviews, and hosting recruitment programs overseas. This position is designated to provide support for international recruitment and enrollment efforts.

Requirements

  • BA/BS with a strong academic record and three or more years related work experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of budget development and fiscal management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituents.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word and EXCEL.
  • Ability to foster teamwork, inclusion, and collegiality in a small office and with other departments.
  • Ability to travel extensively in domestic and international markets.
  • Valid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable.
  • Valid Passport or Real ID.

Nice To Haves

  • International recruitment or higher education experience.
  • Knowledge of Slate by Technolutions, Powerfaids, and/or Workflow.
  • Proficiency in more than one language.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates the benefits of a Wake Forest University education virtually and through on- and off-campus events by attending presentations at international schools, community-based organizations, college counseling events, online webinars, etc.
  • Responds promptly to prospective student, parent/guardian and counselor emails year-round.
  • Works collaboratively to develop an international territory management plan in assigned geographical regions and in alignment with university enrollment goals.
  • Serves as the University’s admissions representative and liaison to secondary schools and students.
  • Educates and updates international high school counselors and prospective students concerning the University’s mission, strategic initiatives and annual updates.
  • Organizes and/or participates in effective individual/group travel programs in international markets.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of travel and adjusts for subsequent visits.
  • Annually analyzes qualifications of over 2,000 prospective students utilizing established admissions standards, guidelines, and criteria.
  • Serves on the admissions committee making subjective evaluations of applicants for admission to the College.
  • Possess the ability to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive personal and academic information submitted in the application process by applicants, secondary school professionals or others from international schools.
  • Serves as a presenter during daily group admissions information sessions for prospective students and parents (over 25,000 visitors per year).
  • May be asked to conduct admissions interviews, imparting information about the University to prospective students.
  • Independently manages an annual project or program, as assigned by senior leadership, and in support of campus programming or recruitment efforts.
  • Participates and assists in the coordination of various on campus international recruiting programs and projects.
  • Participates in the maintenance of up-to-date records and statistics on current applicants.
  • Serves as a liaison to international organizations and campus partners working specifically with foreign national or international applicants.
  • Serve as a model and mentor for new and junior-level admissions officers.
