The International Admissions Counselor drives the full international recruitment and admissions cycle for both undergraduate and graduate programs. This position actively engages prospective students around the world, promoting Indiana Tech, building relationships, delivering dynamic presentations, and guiding students from first inquiry through enrollment. The counselor also ensures a smooth transition to campus by coordinating arrival support, including airport pickup and assistance with housing arrangements. Success in this role requires a motivated, strategic, and globally minded professional who excels in proactive outreach, marketing, and communication. The counselor must be confident presenting to diverse audiences, comfortable assessing academic and financial records, and skilled at making timely admissions decisions. Collaboration is essential. This position works closely with students, families, coaches, partner institutions, and internal colleagues to create effective recruitment strategies that fuel the growth of Indiana Tech’s international student population. The counselor is responsible for ensuring all admissions activities comply with university policies, accreditation standards, and federal immigration regulations. As a Designated School Official (DSO), the individual must maintain strict adherence to SEVIS requirements and federal guidelines governing F-1 international students. This role includes travel locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, as needed to execute high-impact recruitment initiatives. In accordance with federal regulations, only U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents are eligible for DSO designation.
