About The Position

The Federalist Society, a DC-based non-profit organization that seeks to inform the legal and public policy debate on a national level, seeks an Assistant Director to work in our Practice Groups Division. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with an interest in legal and judicial issues and a commitment to the mission of The Federalist Society. Candidates should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with short-term and long-term deadlines. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills. A bachelor’s degree is required. This position is ideal for someone who’s either a recent college graduate or has 1-3 years of experience.

  • Ability to support occasional evening events in the DC area.
  • An interest in and curiosity about the law as well as a strong commitment to our mission.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Practice Groups Vice President in all areas, including: launching high-priority project initiatives, planning and promoting events, and organizing working groups.
  • Schedule, prepare agendas, and track attendance of Practice Group Executive Committee calls.
  • Generate mailing lists and manage weekly and other mass mailings.
  • Oversee Practice Groups webinars, introducing the program and speakers and monitoring the Zoom system during the program.
  • Assist Vice President and Practice Groups Executive Committees with planning in-person events and conferences, including securing and communicating details to speakers, working with Marketing team, and coordinating with Conference & Events division to plan and execute events..
  • Draft promotional copy for marketing emails and event pages on the Federalist Society website and coordinate with other divisions as needed to promote.
