About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Assistant General Manager is oversight of the locker service at Hersheypark; in addition, this role will service and oversee Smarte Carte equipment at mall and Planet Fitness locations in the assigned area (Central PA). This is a highly visible role at the park, and within Smarte Carte, expected to provide exceptional customer service to park attendees, and foster a strong relationship with park management. During the park season, management responsibility of 5-10 part-time employees.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations and people management
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a customer service role
  • Strategic planning and critical thinking skills
  • Basic understanding of electro/mechanical assembly, ability to troubleshoot and make repairs.
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen as defined by a proven track record of success in an operational environment.
  • Ability to forge solid relationships with external constituents e.g., customers, clients, supplier partners, etc. and manage across a wide range of capabilities and personalities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills must be proficient in reading, interpreting, and analyzing financial statements, and understand how operational KPI’s affect financial outcomes.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office/Suite
  • Valid Driver License required
  • Bend and stoop, walk and stand for duration of shift.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Visual acuity/manual dexterity

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of Hersheypark operations.
  • Overall responsibility for the P&L of assigned locations, with the expectation to deliver excellent results vs. annual and strategic plans.
  • Ensure daily operational performance goals are met through managing the labor force, and usage analysis.
  • Manage staff of 5-10 part-time associates, including but not limited to: recruiting & hiring, new employee orientation and training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Maintain Smarte Carte equipment; ensure equipment is clean and operating properly.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, work with Tech Services to resolve issues and repair equipment with urgency.
  • Perform cash collections and end of month financial reconciliation.
  • Provide daily reporting as requested.
  • Ensure daily operational performance goals are met through managing the labor force, and usage analysis.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to include park management and network of Smarte Carte associates.
  • Oversight responsibility of Smarte Carte equipment at malls and Planet Fitness locations in the assigned area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
