Responsible for aiding and supporting the Plant Manager in overseeing daily operations of a manufacturing plant, production efficiency, and ensuring quality control while maintaining safety standards. Assistant Plant Manager will also help with staff supervision and promote a positive, productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Manages direct reports and operation of all departments and guides Team Leaders in the performance of their duties.
- Maintains a personal presence in the facility regularly to respond to personnel problems and verify the effectiveness of operational strategies.
- Leads Lean Improvement projects and acts and the liaison between Lean Improvement personnel and their respective groups.
- Collaborates with Plant Manager and sets strategic goals and visions for the site as well as short and long term goals.
- Directs and manages the overall production plan for the operation, including supervising the day to day operations that come with implementation.
- Promotes continuous improvement of the process
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all operations processes so that finished goods meet customer specifications and ensure maintenance of ISO compliance and standards.
- Work with Production Supervisor to improve process scheduling
- Knowledge of the workings of an ERP system
