About The Position

The mission of the AP Operations is to block and tackle for instruction and achievement, ensuring schools and teachers have the systems, processes, materials, and space we need to achieve our mission. Responsibilities include Building Management Execute management of the building, including distributing supplies, conducting regular walkthroughs, and maintaining the building's cleanliness, organization, and effectiveness. Monitor the management of the facility by conducting regular audits, sharing feedback with staff, and making adjustments to the use of space. Review and reflect on building management by creating quarterly plans for repairs, and maintenance. System Management Alongside the Principal, execute and visibly lead during key non-academic times (recess duty, arrival duty, etc) and key systems (emergency drills, supply management, technology management, student information systems) Alongside the Principal, monitor the effectiveness of key non-academic systems. Alongside the Principal and SD Operations, review and reflect on the effectiveness of key non-academic systems and use reflections to drive improvements, budget decisions, and staffing for each quarter. Serves as a Campus Incident Command Leader and a main point of contact for campus emergency management and communication Ensures students and staff have needed access to appropriate software and hardware and technology issues are addressed promptly Alongside the SD of Operations manages building-wide systems such as transportation, nutrition, and all-campus events. Works with the Principal and CMO staff to prepare the school budgets and tracks micro-budgets Enrichment, Enrollment, & Special Event Planning Plan and manage after school athletics and arts enrichment programming for grades 5-8 Provide logistical support in planning special events for scholars and staff, including occasional evenings and weekends. Support NCCS enrollment efforts through events, tours, and parent engagement. Provide tactical support to Special Events. Special Events include weekly Community Meetings, Staff Holiday Celebrations, School Fundraisers, Teacher Professional Development, and Parent Meetings Plan, set up, staff, and tearing down events, including events before or after traditional school hours Team Management Coach the Front Office Lead on building and systems management including systems for scholar health, scholar records, visitor management, and scholar attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of professional work experience in project/systems management and in a customer-facing role
  • Experience working in schools or in another capacity that involves working with students and families
  • Friendly demeanor with a knack for building and maintaining relationships
  • Experience working with a diverse population of adults and children
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized
  • Proficiency with technology and a willingness to learn new systems
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and the dynamic nature of a school environment
  • Strong work ethic and a determination to help students succeed

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish, and/or Arabic is strongly preferred
