About The Position

We are seeking a talented and experienced assistant principal to lead our growing high school. We want a culturally, instructionally and operationally proficient leader who is passionate about equity, furthering student achievement and providing a safe space for students to learn and grow. Our assistant principal will bring the following skills & attributes to the role: Assistant Principal will work with the Principal to support and monitor rigorous teaching and learning and to establish and sustain a celebratory and productive school culture. Duties and responsibilities include: Coaching and monitoring classroom instruction by leading and/or supporting the following: Professional Development series and sessions Observation and Feedback, including real-time feedback and co-monitoring Teacher and Staff evaluation Practice Clinics Planning and Data Meetings Implementing and monitoring systems and structures designed to support students’ academic success, social and emotional health, and positive behavior by: Monitoring and supporting a strong advisory program Promoting and supporting a “One School, Two Campus” culture and programming Developing and implementing the school’s code of conduct, and all related systems and processes Supporting teachers to hold all students to high and consistent behavioral expectations. Working closely with the Dean of Students and the student support team staff in their support of teachers and students Collecting, monitoring, and responding to student and teacher data Leading grade level Child Study teams Developing, promoting, and leading school activities and events designed to build community, celebrate student and teacher successes, and promote the school’s mission and habits of scholars Monitoring and supporting strong student attendance Working closely with the operations team, lead and/or support the design, execution, and monitoring of key school systems including: Athletics and co-curriculars Transportation Scheduling teachers and students Testing Arrival, Dismissal, Transitions, Lunch Serving in other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to: Working collaboratively with the counseling department, related service providers, family and community engagement staff, partners and other individuals to ensure that students and families receive the appropriate level of support services. Acting in place of the Principal in their absence Supporting and attending school events Coordinating and collaborating with Veritas Prep Middle School and other sending middle schools

Requirements

  • Masters in Education Leadership or similar field of study preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Possession of or working toward a valid Massachusetts School Principal / Assistant Principal License or proof of successful completion of MA-PAL.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a school leader, preferably as an assistant principal
  • Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment
