Assistant Professor of Political Science (Tenure-Track) Lyon College – Batesville, Arkansas Lyon College invites applications for a tenure-track position in political science, starting in the fall of 2026. Qualifications: ● A Ph.D. in political science. ● Demonstrated ability to teach international politics and comparative politics. ● Ability to work with students at various levels of development. ● An understanding of the difference between a small college and a university. ● A demonstrated commitment to liberal arts education is essential. ● Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is highly desirable. Responsibilities The successful candidate will: ● teach at least one section per semester of the American Experience (American institutions and ideas) ● teach a two-course sequence in international politics and comparative politics and electives in their area(s) of expertise. ● Engage in a 3/4 (21 hours) teaching schedule annually. ● Engage in scholarship and creative activities. ● Serve on college committees and participate in college governance; serve as an academic adviser (starting in the second year); participate in recruiting activities as appropriate; engage in curricular development and assessment efforts and engage with the surrounding community.
