Energy Management serves as the hub for energy efficiency and emissions reduction throughout NYC government operations, supporting our agency partners and progress towards the City's major emissions reduction and energy objectives. The Energy Management team concentrates their efforts in six areas: the City's energy supply, clean energy generation, demand response & load management, energy efficient operations & maintenance, energy efficiency retrofit projects, and energy training & innovation. The Fellow will work within DEM's Energy Supply Unit under the guidance of the Program Manager, Demand Response. The Fellow will be tasked with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: Provide administrative and analytical support to seasonal programs including but not limited to electricity and gas demand response and interruptible gas account compliance. Subtask may include, but are not limited to: - Facilitate, monitor, and track vendor outreach to City agencies and facilities, including coordinating periodic agency meetings and working with agency staff. - Assist with reviewing, auditing and processing program payments and vendors' invoices, assist with program payment matters (e.g., vendor fee invoices, metering invoices, payments to agencies through budget modifications, relevant penalties). - Provide preparation and dispatch support to City agencies during periods of extreme weather that impact electricity and gas distribution networks, such as DR events and gas interruption events. - Carry out relevant data analysis to meet the team's analytic and reporting needs. - Track and report on program and performance metrics. - Support development, coordination and administration of team-led training efforts. - Build and maintain productive relationships and effective lines of communication with utility companies, third-party vendors, partner City agencies and as other key stakeholders as needed. - Other tasks as assigned.
