The John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering (EME) at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time, professional track (non-tenure line), teaching faculty at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in petroleum and natural gas engineering. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses on petroleum and natural gas engineering, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics applied to energy systems. The position includes advising students and contributing to the department through service and committee work. This is a 9-month academic appointment paid over twelve months, funded for three years , with the possibility of renewal. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2026. Successful candidates are expected to hold, by the time of appointment, a Doctoral degree in petroleum engineering, energy engineering, or a closely related field. Experience with AI applications, machine learning, data analytics, or digital transformation in the energy sector is expected. Previous industry experience would be a plus.
