Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar
  • ARS: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 6+years’)
  • OR Masters degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 4+ years’)
  • OR PhD and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 2+ years’)
  • In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with organoid tissue culture (or tissue engineering), perfusion systems, and molecular assays is required
  • Experience with one or more of the following analytical techniques: ELISA, MSD, WB, confocal microscopy is required
  • Prior experience in analytical development, particularly cellular drug stability, is required
  • The ability to conduct experiments independently following established methodology and procedures with minimal supervision is essential.
  • The ability to work successfully in both a team/matrix environment, as well as independently, is essential.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced-environment, manage priorities, and maintain timelines for multiple projects is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required to provide updates to key stakeholders
  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner.
  • Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours.
  • Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
  • Able to work in non-traditional work environments.
  • Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
  • May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments.
  • Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with stem cells, T1D, and/or pancreatic islet biology is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and execute a broad range of test methods suitable to characterize cell therapy product and other biologics products
  • Participate in the planning of experiments and provides requisite analytical support to assigned projects with a high degree of reliability and independence
  • Perform initial data review of experimental results, interpret immediate outcomes and/or conclusions within established protocols, and propose follow-up steps for method development
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments and results in electronic lab notebook
  • Authors and reviews SOPs, protocols, and reports as needed
  • Report on project progress and present data at internal team meetings.
  • Performs laboratory support duties ensuring the laboratory functions efficiently.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
