About The Position

Intellisense Systems, Inc. is a privately held company with a proven track record of developing and deploying innovative products that successfully operate in the most extreme environments. We are a fast-growing Southern California technology innovator that solves tough, mission-critical challenges for our customers in the aerospace, defense, and commercial markets. We design, develop, and manufacture advanced products for ground, maritime, and airborne applications. The Associate Buyer is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the purchasing department at Intellisense. This role focuses on the clerical execution of purchasing activities and ensuring adherence to established corporate procedures and compliance guidelines. This is a temporary assignment on-site in Torrance lasting until approximately July 2026

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • 1+ years of purchasing, procurement or administrative support experience within the aerospace or electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Basic understanding of the procurement cycle and price analysis.
  • Ability to assist in the review of supplier quotes and terms.
  • Strong attention to detail for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • US Citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP/MRP System a plus
  • Certifications from Industry associations are a plus (CPM/CPPM)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize corporate purchasing systems to process purchase orders and maintain records to support delivery, quality, and cost performance.
  • Assist in maintaining professional relationships with suppliers and monitor vendor performance to ensure consistent service levels.
  • Execute routine tasks in alignment with Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) and AS9100 policies to support Department of Defense compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and organize purchasing records, cost data, and reports to assist in scheduling, planning, and budgeting.
  • Work closely with purchasing planners and senior buyers to track material demand and supply flow.
  • Follow up with suppliers to expedite material through receiving and inspection; ensure accurate submission of shipping documents.
  • Update and maintain supplier information databases to protect ISI and customer reputation.
  • Support the supplier improvement process by gathering quantitative data on vendor quality and delivery performance.
