As the N/A Design and Construction Associate Construction Manager, you are a customer obsessed leader in the Amazon construction process. In this role, you will play an integral supporting role in the implementation of the facility network infrastructure, including new builds, retrofits and expansion. You will be partners with internal customers and external stakeholders to earn their trust and engage as a team to deliver results. You will be charged with ensuring information is being communicated to internal and external stakeholders in an effective and timely manner. Some key competencies of this position include; insisting on the highest standards, supporting the team to ensure that contracted resources deliver work meeting duration and quality targets, thinking big (seeking better ways to serve your customers), influencing internal stakeholders while holding them accountable for their actions, supporting construction managers to ensure all job internal and external team members are on point and maintaining schedules and budgets, helping to invent and simplify innovative solutions that allow for improved processes and results, and supporting more than one project in various locations. This opportunity combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management. The role will include upwards of 60% travel regionally, with the potential of traveling to all North America locations based on business needs. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Each day, you will serve as the owner's representative to ensure Amazon construction projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Your daily responsibilities in support of the team include coordinating with contractors on project changes and status updates, ensuring contractors meet their contractual obligations, and identifying sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions throughout the construction process while adhering to Amazon's green building practices. You will utilize Amazon's information systems to record and update schedules, budgets, and other key project developments. Additionally, you may assist in negotiating contract terms with contractors while driving them to meet or exceed agreed-upon schedules and budgets. You will also participate in weekly architect, owner, and contractor (AOC) meetings to provide input on root causes and corrective actions.
