The role of the Associate Director, IT, Front-Line Care (FLC) is to provide technology strategies and leadership to the business and ensure alignment with business/IT strategy. This role works with various levels of business leadership to shape the digital strategy and value proposition of the company, while engaging in major initiatives that drive business growth and advocating how new technologies can improve the company´s speed, agility, productivity, and innovation advantage. This position is responsible for IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) by partnering with the Front-Line Care business division to enable their strategic objectives and business needs through technology. Front-Line Care (FLC) is a key business division within Baxter. FLC has a strong product portfolio that provides connected monitoring, intelligent diagnostic and respiratory health solutions including a full range of vital signs, diagnostic cardiology, vision care, physical assessment devices. Baxter’s FLC business division has a very eclectic product portfolio with over $1.1 B business globally and is expected to play a major role in Baxter’s growth over the coming years, with significant new product launches planned in the next 3 years. This role will be based in the US with hybrid work schedule and 3 days in the office in one of the preferred locations (Skaneateles, NY or Deerfield, IL).

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field such as technology, economics, computer science, data management, communication, marketing or statistics.
  • 10+ years’ experience working with business leadership in creating measured value of IT investment.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial technologies supporting capabilities such as marketing enablement, sales enablement, contracting, customer experience, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in life sciences.
  • 5+ years of experience in building business cases (costs, benefits, assumptions).

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM®) accreditation, PMP or MBA is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a highly matrixed, large organization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all aspects of IT services either provided and handled within the IT segment team or provided from any other group within the entire IT organization.
  • Develop and drive IT strategies to align with a high impact business agenda supporting the business segment, including the integration points between this function and other functional IT partners.
  • Accountable for relationships with business segment partners.
  • Collaborate with vendors, industry consultants and senior company management to define information needs, develop cases and priorities, sustain service levels, and proactively leading business demands.
  • Be a trusted advisor to help the business to construct relevant business cases for vital investments and the required change management activities that the business will be required to perform for success.
  • Understand and anticipate the direction of the business segment, find opportunities based on capability needs and make recommendations to support the desired future state outcome.
  • Initiate and maintain a Function/Business Area capabilities roadmap by keeping current with the technological advancements and digital innovations within the subject matter area.
  • Become a leader with vision by introducing different ways that technology can improve value in our pursuit operational improvements and revenue growth.
  • Handle partner concerns process accordingly when delivery of services falls outside of the SLA.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the latest market and technology trends related to our industry and particularly to the business segment supported.
  • Connect with other product owners and managers to keep alignment between product roadmaps and business needs.
  • Proven experience and understanding of the complete SDLC process including compliance, privacy and security aspects.
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • Lead financial spend and IT investments according to plan and ensure timely work you're doing during budget and forecast processes.
  • Handle the demand and associated portfolio of technology investments for the business segment and/or division.
  • Work with senior leaders to evolve culture and interpersonal behavior, elevating IT into a strategic partner.
