Provides legal advice on the design, governance, and administration of executive, broad based, and business unit incentive compensation programs in a highly regulated financial services environment. This role delivers practical, risk-informed legal advice in support of Truist’s business objectives and priorities. It advises senior leadership and partners closely with Human Resources on complex compensation-related matters, including cash and equity based compensation programs, incentive plans and award agreements, executive employment and severance arrangements, retention agreements and other compensation-related agreements, Internal Revenue Code compliance, wage and hour compliance, and pay equity. This attorney monitors legal developments affecting compensation programs, proactively identifies legal risk, and advises internal clients on emerging risks and best practices. The role also supports compensation-program governance, including charter and materials reviews and other responsibilities related to management and board committees. Partners closely with Corporate and Securities in-house attorneys on matters related to executive compensation and benefits programs, including in connection with public disclosures. In addition, leads and develops other legal professionals, maintains strong, collaborative relationships with internal colleagues and clients, and manages outside counsel as needed.
