The Ohio State University College of Dentistry (OSUCOD) seeks applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the rank of associate professor or professor for the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at OSUCOD. The primary responsibilities will include oral health research initiatives, didactic teaching and clinical instruction and supervision of residents as well as dental and dental hygiene students in all sites of patient care. This candidate will also provide direct patient care in the dental faculty practice, participate in scholarly activity, and rotate on-call duties with other full-time faculty. Other duties include supporting the overall mission of the division, participating in university, college, and hospital governance, contributing to the college’s continuing education programs, and maintaining significant and impactful research presence. Visa/immigration sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates. Successful performance is reviewed based on: Promote evidence-based teaching skills in an education setting, proficiency in Pediatric Dentistry, and a strong track record of scholarly activity. Committing significant time to research and obtaining and maintaining extramural funding supporting research in oral health. Engage in research within the college and across other health science units at the Ohio State University and demonstrate high-quality scholarly work, including presentations at professional meetings and publications of basic or clinical research. The tenure-track faculty member will have a much greater emphasis placed on the pursuit of research and extramural funding in accordance with promotion requirements. Demonstrate a passion for student education. Apply advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning. Participate in teaching activities consistent with division goals. Demonstrate effective teaching skills through student and peer reviews. May serve as course director which includes preparation and distribution of course materials, management of lecture/laboratory schedules, and conducting and grading of all examinations. Support a model for dental education that includes the incorporation of innovative technologies, interdisciplinary education and patient care, and evidence-based dentistry. Provide interdisciplinary mentoring to students. Demonstrate collaboration between college divisions. Participation in college and/or university committees.
