About The Position

The Associate Research Scientist assists with project management and is responsible for reviewing, proposing, developing and conducting quality evaluations; as well as participating in study design, instrument development, data gathering, and reporting for basic investigator-initiated studies. Other duties involve correlating and evaluating material prepared by the project team, performing customer contact and liaison functions as necessary, and developing and maintaining mutually satisfactory relationships with groups within Cook Children’s, other companies, and federal and state agencies. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field (e.g., healthcare, social or health science, etc.) and 1-3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Computer proficiency in word processing and Excel
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and be detail oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral, written, and electronic interpersonal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree with relevant professional experience is preferred
  • Experience with project management methodologies preferred
  • Knowledge of research and medical terminology, grant writing and governmental rules and regulations preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of operational, logistical and administrative requirements of research studies preferred
  • An oncology background would be a plus
