About The Position

The Associate Vice President - Personal Lines will lead and oversee a team responsible for delivering exceptional service and insurance solutions to clients, including high net worth individuals and business managers. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational management, including sales of new lines, cross-selling within existing portfolios, and managing daily team workflows. The position serves as the primary liaison between clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with company policies while driving business growth and retention. You will guide and mentor staff, track business performance metrics, and implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction. Success in this role requires a balance of deep industry knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in personal lines insurance, with 15–20 years of progressive work experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to develop and mentor staff
  • Proven ability to drive results, manage client relationships, and solve complex problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, follow-up, and time management abilities
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with high attention to detail
  • College degree preferred (high school diploma required), current state insurance license a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality service to clients, selling new coverage lines and cross-selling within existing portfolios
  • Manage and mentor a team, ensuring workflows, outputs, and company policies are followed
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing complex questions and providing guidance
  • Evaluate team effectiveness and implement strategies to improve productivity and client satisfaction
  • Track and achieve business goals, including sales growth, client retention, and portfolio development
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance products, services, and industry trends
  • Ensure compliance with relevant insurance regulations, licensing requirements, and internal procedures
