About The Position

Assist in researching, writing, submitting, and tracking grant initiatives for the Club, including funding opportunities from private individuals, foundations, and corporations as well as government agencies to increase operational funding base. Responsible for a variety of writing assignments related to special events and Club activities. Work closely with the chief professional officer.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or certification in a specialty area (Work experience may be considered to meet this criteria.)
Minimum of five years work experience in non-propft planning.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient in using various computer software programs, including but not limited to Traxsolutions, membership applications, Donor Management Software (Donor Perfect), Auction Software (Greater Giving) Payroll Systems web-based time system and familiarity to the internet.
Must be registered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (www.bgca.net [http://www.bgca.net/]).
Complete and become certified in at least (5) courses offered through Leadership University: School of Management. (CORE Review, Budgeting Basics, Partnership Development and Key Elements of Impact OR Managing Program Development)
Attend regional and national conferences as appropriate for position and within budgetary guidelines.
Complete and become certified in at least (2) courses offered through Leadership University: School of Management.
Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb.
Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer, use the telephone and other office equipment
Must be able to lift, move manipulate and or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45 pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting or manipulating.

Responsibilities

Help ensure that programs are developed, implemented, and administered per grant guidelines in support of youth and teen development outcomes, services and activities for members and visitors.
Help produce a variety of grant reports ensuring that all reports are complete, accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
Help develop a list of current and potential funding organizations to contact with grant proposals.
Help prepare grant routing worksheet(s) and maintain monthly grant report based upon this listing with proposal deadlines.
Help research local, state, regional, and national government, and other funding sources to apply to funding.
Help secure grant applications and guidelines for qualified grant opportunities.
Help research grant-making organizations and analyze them to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs.
Help Develop proposals for donor consideration.
Help Evaluate giving trends of grantees and evaluate potential cultivation opportunities.
Ensure quality improvement and recommend modifications or new approaches to successful grant writing.
Help Develop and implement strategic initiatives in accordance with meeting and exceeding core program objectives.
Help evaluate and audit the overall quality and objectives of grant funded and Club programs.
Assist in creating and maintaining administrative and operational systems to track fundraising income, compile income status reports and variance reports.
Help manage all staff issues and ensure that career development objectives are met and accurately reflected in performance reviews, as applicable.
Help ensure that Club procedures, including but not limited to human resources and financial policies are strictly adhered to.
Demonstrate skills both verbal and written to communicate with a diverse population of members, as well as adults.
Help prepare activity/programming reports for senior management.

Promote accountability to safety through consistent observation, adherence to all safety rules and practices and proactive communication among members, parents, peers, and leadership.
Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child Abuse Prevention training.
Complete training and participate in all Emergency Preparedness protocols including drills and communication practices.
