About The Position

The overall purpose of this position is to support the development and implementation of promotional content and audience development activities that help increase community engagement and conference attendance. This role coordinates targeted outreach and prepares promotional materials, focused on event attendees and patrons. The role reports to a Manager and manages 0 direct reports. This position works under the general guidelines of the Manager. This position supports the strategy set by the Manager and CEE leadership. While it is an individual contributor role, it coordinates multiple activities that help identify potential audience segments, extend conference promotions to new groups, and provide organizers with basic tools and resources to encourage audience growth. This position works under the direction of the Manager and is assigned projects that support the audience development program efforts. Responsibilities may include content development, engagement, and basic strategy for professional, event‑specific social media profiles. The role also involves consulting with organizers and patrons to understand potential audiences and topics, and helping create integrated outreach plans—including social media strategies, tools, and content.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in digital, event, or social media marketing
  • Experience creating/managing social media content for a business/brand
  • BS/BA in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in using social media on a professional basis, especially Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Extremely organized with a keen attention to detail and great at prioritizing and managing deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have excellent writing skills, and be skilled in writing professionally and for marketing communication
  • Familiarity in using email marketing tools, such as Constant Contact or HubSpot
  • Experience in various Microsoft Office Suite software applications
  • Ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be a technically savvy, knowledgeable worker who seeks out new tools and ways to enhance event marketing solutions
  • Must have excellent problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with clients/volunteers/stakeholders is highly desired
  • Experience in graphic design creation and best practices using tools such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop is a plus
  • Experience with running digital ads and determining the best ad placement is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop copy and content for social media, email campaigns, web content, and other areas of promotion
  • Consult with individual conference organizers to support a turnkey promotional solution
  • Provide assigned customers with specific promotional guidance as contracted or assigned. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate plans into enterprise outlets as appropriate
  • Develop custom campaigns for conferences as needed, has a comprehensive understanding of tools, including pricing and options, and works to assist organizers in determining the right tools and content, and supports deployment.
  • Work with internal teams and stakeholders to act as a bridge and bring appropriate relationships and connections together to support audience and patronage growth.
  • Develops and manages database and resource repository for templates, content, and copy, contact lists, case studies, etc., as needed.
  • Supports CEE with ad hoc projects.
  • Maintains calendar/project management tool with promotions and status
  • Keep apprised of event trends, best practices, and new tools, and present recommendations to the team
