About The Position

As part of the Events team, the Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for delivering top-tier AV support for various events and activities. This role requires a balance of exceptional technical skills, customer service abilities, and adaptability to different AV environments. Reporting to the AV Events Manager, the AV Technician will assist with routine and impromptu AV needs across multiple campuses.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • High School diploma required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a higher education environment is a plus.
  • Associate degree in IT-related field preferred, or equivalent experience and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical AV support to internal and external patrons at various Indianapolis campuses (IFC, NMC, Tech, CCCI, LRC), as well as Lawrence, ATC, and Plainfield.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning properly.
  • Respond to and assist with patron requests, offering both scheduled and impromptu AV support.
  • Efficiently communicate with peers, patrons, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work effectively under pressure to resolve AV issues quickly during events.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Windows Operating Systems and basic computer hardware.
  • Use communication tools like Microsoft Teams, phone calls, and texts to stay connected with team members.
  • Provide logistical and operational support for events.
  • Demonstrate empathy, respect, and professionalism in interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • Travel to different campuses (Lawrence, Plainfield, ATC) as required for support.
