Audiologist– Kenwood Audiology Job Summary: The Audiologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with hearing, balance, and related disorders. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, providing appropriate interventions, and offering counseling to patients and their families to improve communication and quality of life. Specific equipment and testing may vary based on availability and need.

Requirements

  • Licensed as an audiologist in the state of practice (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or the American Board of Audiology (ABA) (preferred)
  • Previous clinical experience in audiology (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of audiological assessments, which many include pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing, auditory steady state response testing (ASSR), auditory brainstem response (ABR) evaluations, to assess hearing and balance function.
  • Fits, programs, and maintains assistive listening devices, which may include hearing aids and cochlear implants. May be responsible for discussing financial cost of hearing aids with patients.
  • Conducts evaluations for balance disorders and provides appropriate interventions.
  • Works closely with otolaryngologists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Educates patients and their families about hearing and balance disorders, treatment options, and coping strategies. Offers guidance on communication techniques and assistive technology.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Participates in hearing screenings, educational seminars, and community events to promote hearing health awareness.
  • May provide additional audiology services as needed, such as rehabilitation for auditory processing disorders, intra-operative monitoring during neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery, cerumen management procedures to alleviate hearing impairments, and/or Universal Newborn Hearing Screenings (UNHS).
