Job Summary The FIAR Manager provides leadership and oversight for financial improvement and audit remediation initiatives within a Department of War environment. The Manager directs project execution, manages staff and client relationships, and ensures successful delivery of FIAR program objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 6+ years supporting FIAR initiatives, federal financial audits, or internal controls.
  • Experience supporting Government or DoW clients preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing engagements
  • Strong knowledge of federal financial management and audit readiness frameworks.
  • Experience managing complex projects and coordinating teams.
  • Ability to communicate financial and audit issues to senior leadership.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Candidates must have the above clearance level and, at a minimum, be able to maintain this clearance during their employment with Montcure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with federal financial systems or ERP environments.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CISA, CGFM, or CDFM.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage FIAR program activities supporting audit readiness initiatives.
  • Oversee project workstreams and ensure deliverables meet quality and schedule requirements.
  • Serve as liaison with government leadership, auditors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic guidance on internal controls and financial reporting.
  • Manage staff assignments, performance, and development.
  • Review and approve key deliverables and executive briefings.
  • Identify risks and improvement opportunities across FIAR initiatives.
