Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, with experience in industrial automation, robotics, machine vision, or automated manufacturing systems.
  • Strong background in automation hardware integration, including sensors, actuators, drives, servo systems, robotics, and machine‑vision platforms such as Cognex or Keyence.
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming concepts (ladder logic, function blocks, safety logic) and experience developing automation or data‑processing tools in Python, VBA, or similar languages.
  • Understanding of process‑control tools such as SPC, control charts, capability indices, DOE, and experience with Power BI or comparable tools for dashboards and manufacturing analytics.
  • A strong problem‑solving mindset with Lean, DMAIC, or 8D experience; ability to learn quickly, work hands‑on in production environments, and maintain clear, organized documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with servo systems, VFDs, communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, ProfNet, Modbus), PC‑based automation, and data acquisition hardware.
  • Familiarity with MES systems, production data analytics, and quality monitoring tools.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt).
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD (Solidworks)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, improve, and support automation solutions using PLCs, robotic systems, and machine vision platforms (Keyence, Cognex, etc.).
  • Support, debug, and optimize control logic, motion control, HMI interfaces, and safety systems.
  • Support and improve custom automation tools, scripts, and data‑processing utilities using languages like Python and Microsoft Excel Visual Basic.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of sensors, cameras, servo drives, and other advanced automation hardware in production and test equipment.
  • Evaluate manufacturability of new designs and collaborate with design engineers to optimize DFMA.
  • Create test plans, analyze results, and implement improvements using statistical and data-driven methods.
  • Provide training and mentorship to production teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and manage change through EC processes.
