About The Position

FEDITC, LLC is a fast-growing business supporting DoD and other intelligence agencies worldwide. Overview of position: FEDITC is seeking AV Technician / Installation Specialist (Radio Shop) to work in the Texarkana TX area. A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Requirements

  • Experience/Skills:
  • Technical Proficiency Experience: 3+ years in AV installation, Public Address (PA) systems, or conference room design (preferred).
  • Core Knowledge: Understanding of AV hardware, networking basics, A/V codecs, and signal flow.
  • Tooling: Proficiency with audio mixers, video conferencing systems, and control system components.
  • Cabling: Expertise in termination standards including RJ-45 compression, soldering, and fiber optics.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Environment: Comfortable working in commercial and industrial settings, including climbing stairs, ladders, lifts, scaffolding, catwalks, crawlspaces, and accessing areas where uneven or cluttered conditions may exist.
  • Stamina: Ability to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods. Capacity to frequently bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl to access floor boxes and cabling pathways.
  • Heavy Lifting: Capability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs. individually (such as large amplifiers or battery backups) and assist in team-lifting displays or video wall panels exceeding 100 lbs.
  • Tool Proficiency: Safe operations of power tools (drill, saws, etc.) and specialized AV tools (crimpers, snips, etc.).
  • Professional Qualities
  • Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues under high-pressure, live-event conditions.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for client-facing interactions and team collaboration.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certification
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance is required. Must be a United States Citizen and pass a background check.
  • Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).

  • Degree or equivalent work experience in Audio Visual technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • System Installation & Integration
  • Physical Setup: Install, mount, and connect a wide array of equipment including TVs, projectors, video walls, speakers, amplifiers, and Network Video Recorder (NVR) systems.
  • Rack Building: Build, wire, clean, and label equipment racks to professional standards.
  • Infrastructure: Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, Fiber, RG6, HDMI, SDI) through various architectural conditions like conduit, walls, and ceilings.
  • Mechanical Work: Safely mount heavy equipment to diverse surfaces and install mounting Audio Visual (AV) back boxes, blocking, and TV brackets.
  • Technical Configuration & Engineering Schematics: Read and interpret signal flow diagrams, architectural drawings, and wiring diagrams; markup as-built drawings with field changes.
  • System Debugging: Configure, troubleshoot, and debug complex AV systems, control interfaces, and networked devices.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conducts site surveys and technical assessments to provide leadership with “Pros/Cons” of various hardware architectures.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Conduct thorough pre-event testing and full system commissioning post-installation to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Lead the engineering and testing of “Proof of Concept” (PoC) rooms, gathering user feedback to refine system designs before large-scale organizational roll-out.
  • Review proposed designs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lifecycle Management: Develop multi-year technology roadmaps for leadership, identifying upcoming “End-of-Life” (EoL) equipment and engineering refresh cycles to prevent system downtime.
  • Event & Client Support
  • Operational Support: Gather client requirements for fixed and mobile setups; facilitate video conference calls and provide technical support for town halls and presentations.
  • User Training: Create user guides and provide professional training to clients and staff on room operation and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Maintenance: Adjust, clean, and maintain equipment per manufacturer recommendations; manage inventory and document repair cycles.
  • Compliance & Safety Standards: Adhere to Government policies, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and guidelines using provided resources and tools.
  • Safety: Follow strict safety procedures, including the use of protective gear, especially when working at heights or in confined spaces.
