About The Position

Clear Star Aviation is a fast-moving FAA Part 145 repair station at Addison Airport (KADS). We work on everything from piston to turboprop to light/mid jets, and we’re looking for an Avionics Technician who’s solid, dependable, and takes pride in clean installs and clean paperwork. What you’ll do Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test aircraft avionics systems and components Perform avionics upgrades, retrofits, wiring repairs, and harness fabrication Use wiring diagrams/schematics to diagnose faults efficiently (and correctly) Conduct operational checks, pitot/static checks as applicable, and return-to-service testing Document work performed clearly and accurately (logbook entries, work orders) Coordinate with maintenance/inspection teams to keep projects moving and customers happy Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow shop procedures and quality standards What we’re looking for (3–5 years) 3–5 years hands-on avionics experience in GA, turboprop, and/or business aviation Comfortable troubleshooting (not just swapping boxes) Strong wiring skills: crimping, soldering (as needed), routing, lacing, shielding, terminations Familiar with common test equipment (DMM, ramp testers, etc.) and avionics tooling Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and service docs Reliable, team-oriented, and able to manage priorities in a busy shop Preferred aircraft experience (make/model) Light & Mid Jets Cessna Citation: CJ series (CJ1/CJ2/CJ3/CJ4), Citation XLS/XLS+ (560XL), Citation V/Ultra/Encore (560), Citation II/Bravo (550/552) Embraer: Phenom 100/300 Learjet: 35/36, 40/45, 70/75 Popular Turboprops Beechcraft: King Air 90/100/200/300 series Pilatus: PC-12 Daher: TBM 700/850/900/910/940 Nice-to-haves Garmin avionics installation/troubleshooting experience (G1000/G3000/G5000, GTN, etc.) Previous Part 145 environment experience

Requirements

  • 3–5 years hands-on avionics experience in GA, turboprop, and/or business aviation
  • Comfortable troubleshooting (not just swapping boxes)
  • Strong wiring skills: crimping, soldering (as needed), routing, lacing, shielding, terminations
  • Familiar with common test equipment (DMM, ramp testers, etc.) and avionics tooling
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and service docs
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to manage priorities in a busy shop

Responsibilities
