Role Summary The Azure & Entra Administrator is a hands-on technical generalist responsible for managing the organization's cloud identity, access, and security posture across Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365. This role ensures the environment is secure, well-governed, and optimized to support modern workplace technologies, including AI platforms such as Copilot, ChatGPT-based tools, and other commercial AI solutions. The Azure & Entra Administrator partners closely with the AI Solutions Lead, IT operations, and security teams to maintain a stable, compliant, and scalable cloud foundation.

Requirements

3–7 years of experience in Azure administration, Entra ID, or cloud identity management.
Strong understanding of identity security, Conditional Access, MFA, and Zero Trust principles.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and security tools.
Ability to troubleshoot complex identity and access issues across cloud and hybrid environments.
Familiarity with supporting AI-enabled environments (Copilot, ChatGPT integrations, Azure OpenAI).

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, or other SIEM/SOAR/EDR tools.
PowerShell scripting or automation experience.
Exposure to Power Platform, Copilot Studio, or AI-related integrations.
Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, SC-300, AZ-500, MS-102).

Responsibilities

Manage Entra ID identities, groups, roles, and lifecycle processes.
Implement and maintain Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, and identity protection policies.
Ensure least-privilege access and secure authentication patterns across all systems.
Support Azure resource management, subscriptions, RBAC, and policy enforcement.
Maintain core services such as Azure AD Connect, networking, storage, and monitoring.
Assist with Azure services required for AI tools, Power Platform, and enterprise integrations.
Monitor and respond to alerts from Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Entra security tools as well as other third party security tools.
Support vulnerability management, patching, and secure configuration baselines.
Collaborate with security teams to maintain compliance with internal and external standards.
Ensure M365 permissions, data access, and sharing settings align with AI readiness requirements.
Support the deployment and governance of tools such as Copilot for M365, ChatGPT integrations, and other commercial AI platforms.
Troubleshoot identity, access, and integration issues affecting AI workflows and modern workplace tools.
Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, or Power Platform.
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Serve as a technical escalation point for identity, access, and cloud issues.
